I have the 13.5 and 10.5 Kahoona v6 kites. The 13.5 is surprisingly fast turning for its size, they are stable and easy with steady pull. Self launch/land is reliable and easy with these if you know the technique. I have used these kites extensively on water and snow, crashing occasionally, and they have held up to some abuse for sure. Upwind is good. The 10.5 is better upwind but this is related more to the conditions. The range is superb on both.. The canopy is solid and does not flutter at all unless totally depowered- the 2012 Rally I used to own fluttered more when sheeted way out and thus had less range. Just my experience. I prefer the Kahoona, however I like the slingshot bar system better and still use it. For the beginner- you will read that other kites have more unhooked performance etc but honestly at my spot 99% of riders don't unhook ever- Most people just want to cruise and do basic jumps, which this kite is perfect for. If you want to get out in varied conditions and have reliable and easy to use gear, then I highly recommend the Kahoona as possibly the most fun per dollar in kiteboarding.
