The first thing you need to know is that the Rocky Pro Model is not meant for every rider out there. It is especially not meant to be used by the novice. Designed under the supervision of Rocky Chatwell, this is a high performance new school freestyle board meant to be used at competition level. It is thus meant to be used by the pro rider who wants to win competitions.

From a performance point of view this board has a lot to offer – as you would expect from a competition-level board.

First up, there's the board’s durability. The Rocky Pro Model is made from carbon fiber composites which are some 5 times lighter than steel and some 10 times more resistant than steel. This means the board is incredibly strong and quite lightweight. The board is covered in sheet foils, which protect the graphics and the color, allowing you to have a good looking board for a longer period of time. Underneath the board you will find G10 fins which have made a name for themselves by being almost impossible to break. It should also be mentioned that the Rocky Pro Model comes with stainless steel inserts that are incredibly durable.

Second up, there's how the board handles on the water. Rocky Pro Model comes with a wood core, which is good. Wood is resistant, lightweight and flexible. Thanks to the wood core, the Rocky Pro Model has a lot of flex and pop to offer. Speaking of flex, the board’s center is stiffer, while the tips aren’t – thus the board offers more flex.

Everyone will testify that riding in choppy waters can be a bit of a pain. Ride in choppy waters for a few hours and your knees will definitely feel it. This is not the case with the Rocky Pro Model. This board has a unique shock absorbing system that makes for a very smooth ride. Speaking of which, the Rocky Pro Model comes with a concave bottom. This bottom, and the board’s 3D ABS rails, result in smooth and easy carving.

Let’s end all the talk about the Rocky Pro Model’s performance with this: Kiteworld magazine ranked it in the Top 3 Freestyle boards in the world.  Now let’s focus on the board’s looks for a bit. From a visual point of view, the Rocky Pro Model is quite good looking. Depending on how the sun hits it, it will change its color. Sometimes the board has a greenish shade, other times it has a reddish shade. The board will keep looking good for a long time because it’s covered in UT-resistant sheet foils.

The bottom line is that if you want an aggressive new school, competition freestyle board that looks good and will last forever, you need to get the Rocky Pro Model. It is a good choice if you are an advanced rider who wants a pro competition board.
