The Kite Speed World Championship will determine the fastest kiteboarder in the world. The competition is organized by Delta Mistral Camarque and it is scheduled to take place between the 5th and 15th of July 2012. It is a competition with no ranking points, but there will be 5000 euros cash prizes to be won.

The event takes place at Salines de Giraud near Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône in Southern France, one of the best speed sailing spots in the world.

40 riders will compete in the Kite Speed World Championship, from which 20 are invited, and 20 will make their way through qualifications. Qualification is based on GPS speeds over 500 meters achieved between the 5th June 2011 and 5th June 2012.

Alex Caizergues and Sébastien Cattelan, two of the fastest kiteboarder in the world will attend the Kite Speed World Championship and battle for the title, so this is an event not to be missed.
