Salt and Speed 2 2013

Salt and Speed 2 2013

Period: Mar 10 - Apr 18, 2013
Location: Salin-de-Giraud, France

Alexandre Caizergues and Rob Douglas attempted to break the Outright Sailing Speed Record last year. With an average speed of 53.40 knots for the American and 52.45 knots for the Frenchman over 500 meters, the first “Salt and Speed” session proved to be a popular success.

The two of them are not yet fully satisfied and will try to improve on the current World kitesurfing speed record held by Rob Douglas himself (55.65 knots) this year, in the Salt and Speed 2 challenge. Both of them trained hard to do that. Alex Caizergues has linked together a series of sessions in South Africa and Qatar, whilst Rob has been in Costa Rica.

The waiting period for the proper winds is between the 10th of March and 18th of April. The action will take place at Salin-de-Giraud in France. Alex and Rob’s partners are Ouest Provence, AlpEnergie par GDF SUEZ, Volkswagen Véhicules Utilitaires (Commercial Vehicles), Zenith and Sosh.
