New for 2014, the guys at Axis introduce a new board model: the wave riding twin tip called Twinwave. Although the twin tip waveriding kiteboard is not a totally new concept, you will surely appreciate the performance of this board. The Twinwave is easy to power up and runs great in all sorts of waves, from small surf to over the head swells.

If you love to ride the waves and want a new sensation other than riding a classic directional, you definitely need to try the Twinwave from Axis. It is a twin tip specifically designed for the waves. This means you can perform quick turns, climb on the face of the wave and throw all sorts of wave specific tricks with ease.

The Twinwave features a wider and longer profile which assures increased directional stability and also makes it quick to plane. A V Spine bottom profile combined with the tucked rail, allows the board to glide easily from edge to edge, just like a surfboard. The tucked edges taper into a harder edge at the tail to give you this sensation. The Twinwave features multiple fin placements to accentuate the directional aspect of the board, or simply ride as a standard twintip, depending on your choice.

The bottom is shaped to ensure extra stability and deliver a smooth and solid glide. The Axis Twinwave makes the perfect transition from a twintip into the progressive and dynamic world of kitesurfing. The board is built using a full Paulownia wood core, Biaxial fiberglass with Uni-Carbon reinforcing laminates and a durable outer Coaxial PBT foil top and bottom sheet.

I use it with thruster fin setup and no front fins. It rips! It tracks upwind like a truck and turns and carves like a surfboard.

The Twinwave is a different board for sure. It feels like a pure surf kiteboard in turns thanks to the rail shape and the deep concave makes it very smooth. The Twinwave planes fast, even in lighter lulls. It's a wide and long board, but it feels...more
