Not a game changer, but it does the job. It's smooth and rides fast and can carve nice.
Naish Orbit 2014
The new 2014 Naish Orbit is designed to get you rolling in those lightwind conditions that keep all of the other riders off the water. It is actually more than a simple lightwind board. It is a powerful freeride machine which offers you the best performance you can get in marginal winds and, as the guys at Naish say, is the ideal twin tip board for riders of any skill level who are looking to increase their number of days on the water.
Marginal wind conditions are no longer a challenge with the Naish Orbit. This board is designed to offer you optimal speed, control and power when the wind barely blows. It is also very user friendly, so it can be used by virtually any rider. The large surface profile combined with the low rocker assures excellent early planning performance. The three stage rocker also reduces drag and assures a balanced drive.
A medium flex makes the Orbit perfect for slow and medium speeds. 3D step rails are used to create thin edges and generate a good grip. Drag is reduced and upwind performance maximized by using a 4 degrees angled center fin. Surface area is maximized by the side cut rails. This feature also adds better back foot grip. An asymmetrical double concave bottom shape provides early water release when edging and adds extra grip plus planing stability. The framework deck makes the board light and assures optimal rigidity.
Naish has crafted the Orbit using a Supreme Wood core for superior reflex characteristics, high tensile grade laminates for maximum durability, full length carbon top and bottom to assure better stiffness and flex response and special impact reinforcement zones in stress areas.
