Slingshot T-Rex 2014
The T-Rex is a new addition to the 2014 Slingshot surfboard line and it is a board dedicated to all riders that need performance and want to have fun. The board can be used by any rider, from beginner to advanced and it is specialized on performing cool aerial tricks and dominating small to over the head waves. It is the board of choice for riders that want to have fun but of elite riders like Patrick Rebstock as well.
The 2014 T-Rex features a new generation surf shape, based on a ‘cut’ nose, which makes it easier to spin and flip tricks with less swing and provides a tight precise feel when driving upwind. This new shape, resembling a mutant one, reduces the tendency of perling as you drop into your line and allows you catch every wave with ease. The shorter outline makes it a perfect board to travel with, but also assures increased maneuverability and response.
A single concave assures excellent control, as well as a smooth and steady ride. It also makes the board very forgiving in any conditions. The swallow tail assures sharp and precise carves at all times and enhances turning performance. The board features Slingshot’s Fluid X Vibration Dampening System, derived from the ski and snowboard industry. This tech assures an anti-torsion property from tip to tail. A visco-elastic stringer improves the dynamic behavior of the core construction, generating more flex, a better response and a smoother ride.
The T-Rex can be used with a five, tri or quad fin configuration. The five fin configuration makes it more aggressive, providing more drive and acceleration, the tri fin makes creates a loose feel and makes it run free, while the quad fin setup provides you with better tracking abilities. It is constructed using an EPS core, combined with bamboo layers, resin and weaved, lightweight fiberglass.
