Liquid Force Envy 2011 Kite Review
The 2011 kite lineup by Liquid Force features three models: the Envy, Havoc and HiFi Comp. It may not seem an extensive line, but you will surely be impressed once you take a closer look at these models. They went through a long process of research and development to cover a wide range of styles and skill levels, and to meet the needs of the most demanding riders.
The 2011 Envy is a kite developed to suit the needs of any freerider, wave rider and freestyler out there. The kite features a Delta Hybrid shape, with a refined outline which permits the rider to experience a smooth a d drag free flight. The Diamond Wingtip design assures an accurate control and permits the rider to stabilize the kite in the wind window. At the same time the four line set up assures that the kite can be steered and handled very easy in any wind conditions.
The previous version of the Envy was quite a success due to the excellent all round performance it has offered. The kite was very efficient at wave riding, freestyle and freeriding, and blended user friendly features with extra power to offer a great kiteboarding session. The 2011 model which Liquid Force has released follows the same pattern, but it is enhanced to be even more efficient and versatile.
The kite has a nice, progressive power delivery, so it is perfect for beginner and advanced riders alike. A three strut design, featuring a center strut increases the responsiveness of the kite, so it is easy to maneuver in any situation. The kite turns fast due to the narrow turning axis feature and has plenty of power for the rider who loves extreme moves or high speeds, but it is super stable and easy to control, so even the beginner rider can enjoy a great ride or perform progression moves. The Liquid Force Envy is powered up through a One Pump System called Max Flow Inflation System, which assures a fast and easy inflation. Once it is launched it feels light and agile and has nice upwind abilities. The light pressure in the control bar allows the rider to steer the kite without any effort. He can perform any maneuver or ride as fast as he wishes, without worrying about losing control even for a second. The USB 2.0 Bridle system combined with the Angled Jet Struts significantly improves stability and overall control. At the same time, the Envy is equipped with the innovative CPR control system developed by Liquid Force, system which provides a safe total depower in seconds.
The Liquid Force envy is constructed from top quality fabrics, and the manufacturer has managed to balance very well the strength to weight ratio. The kite is available in 5, 7, 9, 12 and 15 meters sizes and six unique color schemes.
The control bar Liquid Force introduced for the 2011 range of kites is called the CPR. The name is short for Centerline Push Release. Why did Liquid Force select this name? Why because the control bar is designed around a breakthrough Center Line Push Release safety system
• Depower options: 100% depower flag line leash attachment option and 90% depower leash attachment setting. The 100% depower flag line leash attachment option will completely depower the kite while the rider is hooked and the bar is released. The 90% depower leash attachment setting, which can be used by attaching the leash to the end of the mainline, allows the rider to repeatedly depower the kite in a safe manner.
• Below the bar depower cleat – a 3D cleat is molded into the CPR chicken loop and the power adjustment mainline runs through the aforementioned 3D molded cleat.
• Center Line Push Release – the rider can easily and safely release the kite with just one hand, it doesn’t matter which.
• No mechanical or metal parts – all the parts are molded plastic, meaning they are impervious to rust, corrosion sand, salt, heat, and other factors that may cause harm to the bar.
