The one to come up with the idea for the Master of the Ocean competition is German waterman Marcus Bohm. The competition was initially envisioned as a sort of “Iron Man of Water Sports” that would give Dominicans and Dominican residents the chance to compete against international pros. The event has grown and now, ten years later, it is one of the most exciting competitions on the surfing, SUP, windsurfing, and kiteboarding calendar.

This year Epikoo was a special partner of the Master of the Ocean competition. To celebrate the 10th edition of Master of the Ocean and the 1st anniversary of Epikoo, we ran the Get Stoked contest and put up a total of 14 prizes, the Grand Prize being a Dakine Pyro waist harness, a pair of SeaSpecs sunglasses, and a short sleeve rash guard. As of February 29th, the contest is over; the winners will be announced here on Epikoo in about a week’s time.
