Kiteamaran – It’s All about Kite Catamaran Sailing

What do you get when you cross an old Nacra 5.2 and an 18 meter Cabrinha Velocity kite? You get a cool Kiteamaran sailing session. Although the Velocity is not designed for this task, it’s good to know that it is powerful enough to pull a boat.

And the Waterlust crew put it to the test. As usual, the Waterlust guys wanted to do something different and they succeeded. They rigged the Velocity to the catamaran and started sailing. And the best thing is that their entire adventure was shot with the GoPro Hero 3+ and you can check out the flick in the related videos section below.

Here are a few things about the Velocity. Developed over an entire season with designer Pat Goodman, Damien Leroy and PKRA World Tour Racing Champion Bryan Lake, the Velocity VMG is podium proven. It features a light weight construction using only 5 micro struts, a dynamic arc design, power control pigtails to maximize the range and it is based on a bow kite plan form for the highest power to drag ratio. It is a true racing machine, and, as you can see, it is powerful enough to pull a boat.
