Mondial du Vent 2012: Awards Ceremony

The winners of the freestyle event Mondial du Vent 2012 were decided on day 5 when the double elimination was completed – Alex Pastor took first place in the men’s division while Gisela Pulido took the same spot but in the women’s division. They were followed on the podium by Aberto Rondina and Youri Zoon, and by Karolina Winkowska and Bruna Kajiya.

On day 6 of the Mondial du Vent 2012 an awards ceremony for the event’s winners was held, thus marking the official close of the event. The riders mentioned above were presented with special gifts in the presence of hundreds of fans – hundreds of fans were present on site to cheer and applaud the riders, hundreds others watched the awards ceremony online as it was streamed live on the PKRA’s site.

The awards ceremony focused on two more riders: Manuela Jungo and Liam Whaley. These riders walked onto the stage first and were presented with the “Rookie of Mondial du Vent” award in Leucate. The Rookie awards were presented first, then the women’s, and last but not least, the men’s awards.

The next event on the 2012 PKRA World Tour is the MINI Kiteboarding World Tour, racing event that will take place in Mexico (April 19-22).

The next freestyle event on the 2012 PKRA World Tour is the O’Neill Kitesurf World Cup the Hague, which will take place in Holland (May 15th-20th).
