The Mission Bay Aquatic Center is one of the most important and large water sports schools and training facility in US. It is situated in California, on the South side of the Santa Clara Point. The center has certified instructors and offers courses and training for wakeboarding, water skiing, surfing, sailing, rowing, windsurfing and kayaking. The courses can be attended indoors, in very nice classrooms or outdoor, in the beautiful Californian landscape, near the ocean. The Mission Bay Aquatic Center is part of the boating safety program initialized by the California Department of Boating and Waterways.

At this school you will find all the equipment to suit your style and skills: 3 motorized watercraft, 25 windsurfing boards, 90 kayaks, 40 rowing shells, 50 sailboats and 100 surfboards await you to learn the most exciting water sports. After your session you can use the lockers and change rooms or you can relax in the center’s lobby. The Center started to operate back in the 70’s and has an interesting history. Glen Brandenburg, student at that time turned into teacher, when one of the instructors has ceased working there. Afterwards, in the 75’s the Associated Students of SDSU and UCSD Recreation took over the boathouse and the new Mission Bay Aquatic Center emerged. Since then, the Center has trained thousands of people, and they were all happy with the instructor and facilities. Only in 2009 over 15.000 water sports enthusiasts took part in the training courses to develop new skills.

If you love windsurfing, kayaking, surfing, wakeboarding or any other water sport, but you do not yet have the skills it takes to master the waves, the Mission Bay Aquatic Center is the perfect place to start learning.
