The 12'6"x26.5" Race BOP is part of the new Ocean/Race series of SUP boards introduced by Starboard in 2012. This is a special board, crafted with focus on the needs of the competitive rider. BOP stands for Battle of the Paddle Edition, so it is clear that the board offers high performance in the hands of an experienced rider. Starboard has crafted is using two construction technologies: Red Stripe Brushed Carbon and Blue Stripe Glass Epoxy.

The first one is based on a full deck and bottom wrap of high quality biaxial carbon and PVC structure which creates a very light platform with a quicker response. The second model is more affordable and offers a balanced strength to weight ratio. Both models are supplied with a single Race 23 fin.

The board features a flatter rocker which makes it fast and versatile in cleaner ocean conditions. It also has a flat deck to keep the rider steady at all times. The squared tail assures increased stability when entering and coming out of a swell, while the pinned nose allows it to cut through waves without problems. The board excels when it comes to tracking and gliding. It runs fast, it accelerates quickly and maintains its speed on long courses easily. Maneuverability is not outstanding, but it is a race board and it is aimed to run fast and win the race. The Starboard 12'6"x26.5" Race BOP runs perfectly in flat water and small chop.
