The Converse is part of the Compact Wave series of SUP boards introduced by Starboard in 2011. These boards are user friendly, highly maneuverable and can handle various wave conditions, including tougher surf ones. The Converse is a compact and relatively short board, designed for the rider who is focused on increased maneuverability and likes to perform more technical moves out on the waves. It has a smooth outline and a fast rocker that makes it loose and generates a nice speed. The drive is improved by the thruster fin setup.

The board is particularly well suited for riders that progress from long boards to shorter ones. It is easy to handle and feels very stable and accurate. The mono concave nose section merges to a slight V in the tail to assure a smooth glide and controlled turning. The board has good tracking abilities and can be fitted into pockets with ease.

The Starboard Converse comes in Brush Carbon, Tac and Silver, Candy and Blue AST construction technologies. The AST boards are highly durable and feature different deck pads and deck traction system depending on model, the TAC ones are crafted using a wood structure that generates higher dynamic shape stability and the Brush Carbon boards are extremely light and have a more lively response. The Converse is a good board for progression, but can also suit a more advanced rider.
