Naish Paddle Championship Maui 2012
The 7th Naish Paddle Championship in Maui is scheduled for the 22nd of July. This is one of the most anticipated SUP events of the year and gathers a huge number of participants.
Last year, no less than 238 competitors from Europe, Tahiti, the US Mainland, Hawaii and Australia gathered to take part in the competition. The winner was the legendary Jamie Mitchell, who stated that the race “was a perfect preparation for the upcoming Molokai 2 Oahu Paddleboard World Championships.” And he was right, as he won the 10th consecutive Molokai 2 Oahu title.
This year, Naish officials are sure that the Maui Championship will be bigger and better than ever. Participants will compete in a 9.5 mile race from Maliko Gulch to Kahului Harbor. The race is open to various Stand up Paddle and Paddleboard classes. After the race, participants will enjoy a great picnic party.
