Oregon Open Ocean Classic 2012

Oregon Open Ocean Classic 2012

Period: Aug 24 - Aug 26, 2012
Location: Newport, United States

The Oregon Open Ocean Classic is an event that will benefit the National Brain Tumor Society, a nonprofit organization dedicated to find better treatments and a cure for people living with a brain tumor or anyone who will be diagnosed with one. The organizers ask participants to “Paddle their Brains Out” for the charity.

Oregon Open Ocean Classic hosts two races: an offshore race and a bay race, to offer participants the chance to display their skills in two types of conditions. The offshore race is quite challenging as the organizers state. Last year, the winner of both the ocean race and the bay race was Dan Gavere. He will most likely defend his title this year and fight for charity.

The Oregon Open Ocean Classic takes place between the 24th and 26th of August, in Newport, on the challenging shores of the central Oregon coast. To register for this event and find out more details, please visit the official website.
