Harry Maskell and Yuuka Horikoshi proved to be the most progressive and determined riders, winning the challenge.

With heavy onshore winds making for challenging conditions, the 17-year-old Harry Maskell from Australia impressed for the second day in a row with a dominating performance in the final round of the Jr. Pro Invitational. Maskell said: “It was definitely one of the most difficult days I’ve ever surfed. I’m just really stoked to have won both the racing competition yesterday and then the surfing today.”

On the Girls’ side, 17-year-old Japanese paddler Yuuka Horikoshi surprised everyone with a dominate performance in the finals. After winning the competition, she stated: “I’m super happy to win this event and am very appreciative that my parents gave me this opportunity to compete in the United States. The windy conditions were very similar to my home break in Japan, so I felt like this would be my time to shine.”
