Short Interview with Jenny Kalmbach

Jenny Kalmbach is one of the best SUP athletes in the world. Recently, she was awarded the Female Paddler of the Year at the first annual SUP Awards. Jenny Kalmbach is dedicated to Stand up Paddling and she also tries to promote this sport all over the world.
In a recent interview for SUP Magazine, the talented rider shared a little insight on her career and goals.

The most important accomplishments for 2011 included winning the Female Paddler of the Year award at the SUP Awards, although this prize came as a surprise for her and winning the 1st place in Long Distance and 2nd place in Elite at the Battle of the Paddle Hawaii in May. The Elite race was quite a challenge, but she managed to come in second in the end.

In 2012 Jenny Kalmbach plans to travel a lot. She will attend several competitions and races and she will also travel for fun. She will participate at the Molokai to Oahu races, as they are two of her favorite competitions. She will also try to raise awareness about plastic pollution and the way it affects the planet and people’s health.

Jenny Kalmbach about SUP: “I paddle because it’s challenging– because it’s a great way of exploring. It’s fun and it’s diverse, but most of all, I paddle because it makes me happy. Whether I’m training, racing, surfing or just cruising with friends, I always leave the water feeling good.”
We wish Jenny Kalmbach all the best for 2012 and we can’t wait to see her perform on the water.

Jenny Kalmbach also stars in Stand Film, a movie related to the way in which modern world affects the Great Bear Rainforest in British Columbia.
