SUP and Tow Waveriding Action on Day 4 of Reno World Cup Sylt

The bad new is that the wind was light on day four of the Reno World Cup Sylt, the final event on the PWA World Tour. The good news is that the waves were waist high, providing good conditions for a SUP (stand up paddling) race and a tow waveriding session.

The SUP race, which put up €600 prize money, went like this: the competitors would make up teams of three (mixed gender teams), then the racing would take place in a relay format around a three mark course that included a run in and out of the waves. The fastest team from each heat would advance into the final; the losing team with the fastest time would advance to the final as well.

Here are the results of the Reno World Cup Sylt SUP Race

  • Marcilio Browne (Fanatic / North / MFC)
  • Nayra Alonso (Fanatic / Severne)
  • Kauli Seadi (JP / NeilPryde)

After the SUP Race a tow waveriding session was organized. Ricardo Campello, Kauli Seadi, Dario Ojeda, and Marcilio Browne took part in the session and amazed the crowds with their pushloops, backloops, huge goiters and some explosive crashes.
