Surfing Australia Launches New SUP National Series

SUP has become one of the most appreciated water sports disciplines today and gathers a huge number of fans. Considering the growth of this discipline over the last years, Surfing Australia has decided to organize the Stand-Up Paddleboard National Series.

Surfing Australia is a nonprofit organization established in 1963 with the purpose to establish, guide and promote the development of surfing in Australia. It also represents the representative body on the International Surfing Association on the Australian continent and it is a member of the Water Safety Council of Australia.

Surfing Australia will organize the SUP Series with the purpose to uncover Australia’s most talented and competitive SUP riders and support them build a solid pro career. The SUP Australia National Series is supported by the Australian Sports Commission, the International Surfing Association, Nikon and Suncorp.

Andrew Stark, Surfign Australia CEO about this competition: “In partnership with our State branches and the International Surfing Association we are absolutely committed to developing Stand-Up Paddleboarding in this country and ensure that participants are provided a strong pathway from club level through to international competition through the ISA World Titles.”
