Guinness World Records in Surf World
Surfing is a great sport which shapes great athletes, but also a scene for impressive achievements. Thanks to Surfer Today, a premier provider of water sports content, we have a list of the most amazing Guinness World Records related to surfing.
We will start with the "Most Wins of the Pro Surfing World Championships". As you surely know, Kelly Slater is responsible for this record, and he will probably be undefeated for a long time.
When it comes to "Most People Riding a Surfboard", the record holder is a group of 47 surfers who managed to ride a huge 12 meters surfboard at Snapper Rocks, in Queensland, Australia, on the 5th of March 2005.
The "Most Surfboards Stacked on a Car" record goes to a few surfers from Santa Barbara, California, USA, who stacked no less than 282 surfboards on top of a car.
Donald Dettloff, from USA, is the proud owner of a 647 different surfboards collection and holds the "Largest Collection of Surfboards" world record. He has a “plantation” of boards on his property in Haiku, Maui, Hawaii.
The "Largest Wave Surfed" record is held by Garrett McNamara, a legendary big wave rider, who rode a 90 feet monster wave in Portugal.
Kurtis Loftus completed the "Longest Surfing Marathon". Last year, between the 26th and 27th of October, at Jacksonville Beach, Florida, he set out for a 29 hours and 1 minute ride.
