Talented young rider Nikki Van Dijk from Phillip Island, Victoria, Australia has just won the first competition on the 2012 ASP Calendar, the EVO Women's Pro Junior. Although snaps and Bronte Macaulay has performed spectacular, she could not keep up with Nikki Van Dijk and came in second. The third place went to Naomi Stevic from Sunshine Coast, QLD, Australia. With only a couple of minutes left on the clock, to Naomi Stevic was in the lead, but a last minute wave was enough for Nikki Van Dijk to surpass her.
Nikki Van Dijk about winning the EVO Women's Pro Junior: It was so slow, but there were some good waves out there if you waited. Bronte is so capable of getting good scores so I just tried to use my priority to catch the best waves. It feels so good to win an event at home in Victoria, especially being the first event of the year!"
The EVO Women's Pro Junior is organized and sanctioned by ASP Australia and was held at Bells Beach, Victoria, Australia, between the 5th and the 9th of January. The Event was presented by Ghanda.
