Tabou Rookie 2012
Tabou team promotes windsurfing across the World and encourages all people to learn this wonderful sport. In 2012 their team has developed a special board dedicated to kids and beginner riders: the Rookie. It is not just a downscaled version of a larger board. The Rookie is especially optimized for the input of a younger and lighter rider. The board features a compact and user friendly shape which makes it very responsive and stable. It does not pack exaggerated volume, but it floats really nice and feels very stable out on the water.
The board also features special footstrap positions which keep the rider relaxed as he performs his first moves. A new rocker line assures excellent control and better upwind and planning performance. The hull design assures a very smooth water flow and generates a fluid drive. The Tabou Rookie is available in Freeride and Wave versions. The Rookie Wave has an exceptional carving ability. It is also able to handle various wave conditions with ease and suppresses the wave impacts to offer a comfortable ride. This board uses a quad fin setup. This fin setup allows the young rider to tackle higher waves as he progresses.
The Rookie Freeride works very nice in flat waters. It features a center fin which significantly improves upwind tracking and assures extra grip. Both Rookie models are equipped with a full EVA deck which protects the rider against injuries in case he falls and bumps the board. The boards have multiple footstrap positions which can accommodate beginner and intermediate riders. Tabou has crafted the Rookie using a PVC Full Sandwich HD technology, based on an EPS core, complemented by a Fiberglass, PVC and Biax Glass layup structure. This construction makes the board durable and light. The Tabou Rookie is the perfect board for junior riders who want to become future champs.
