Gaastra Pilot is created to get the sailor on the water as quick as possible, and of course to keep him there for a long, long time. When Gaastra developed the 2009 Pilot, it focused on making it simple, easy to use by any type of rider and extremely versatile. The sail is quite simple to set up, and once rigged you can quickly start having fun in the waves. In moderate to strong winds, the Pilot is easily powered up and delivers impressive acceleration and top speeds. For beginner and intermediate sailors the use of the Dacron luff panel makes the sail flexible and easy to control at all times. Also, for a smooth and comfortable ride the stability of the Pilot is increased through the triangulated load bearing pannew which maintains a balanced weight to strength ratio. The Pilot has great turn speed and the soft leech tension allows easy and responsive steering.

Gaastra Pilot has a no cam design and uses a Vario or fixed head depending on the model size. Also, depending on the size it features four or five battens configuration for enhanced handling. It is available in 4.5 to 7.5 meter sizes and comes in six different color styles.
