Children of the Wind Receives Three Awards at the X-Dance Film Festival

The X-Dance Film Festival is one of the most prestigious action sports film festivals in the world. The best action sports films participate in this festival. It is a great honor for athletes and filmmakers alike to be nominated in this festival and receive an award.

One of the movies that was highly appreciated at the 2012 X-Dance Film Festival was ‘Children of the Wind’, a fantastic windsurfing movie which documents the story of the Bonaire windsurfers Tonky and Taty Frans, their cousin Kiri Thode, and mentors Elvis Martinus and Patun Saragoza.

Children of the Wind received the Best Documentary Award, the Best Emerging Filmmaker Award for Daphne Schmon and the Best Original Score. The movie was also nominated in the Best Film section.

The movie is scheduled for release in early 2013.
