Speed Sailing with Benoît Gaudiot

Benoît Gaudiot is one of the most promising talents in the world of Speed Sailing. Hailing from Southern France and only 15 years old, he aims to break the 45 knots barrier in speed windsurfing. And he will probably succeed.

Don’t mistake him for the average kid who sails for fun. Although he is very young, Benoît is a seasoned windsurfer and kitesurfer and has been training to break records at the Saintes-Maries de la Mer channel for some while now. And he has the skills.

We must mention that at the age of 14 Benoît Gaudiot has already broken the 40-knots frontier with a maximum speed of 40.14 knots in windsurfing and 42.34 knots in kiteboarding. It is quite an achievement for such a young kid. His next step is to break the 45 knots barrier before he is 16.

You can check him out training in the "In Search of the Lost Channel" clip below, a video that showcases highlights from his training session on the flat waters of Saintes-Maries de la Mer.

Benoît is already entering GPS sailing contests and will surely compete in world class speed sailing events alongside elite sailors soon.
