Point-7 AC-X 2012

Point-7 AC-X 2012

Sail type: Freeride, Race
Brand: Point-7

A new series of point-7 sails is ready to start the 2012 windsurfing season. The sails are engineered using a special shaping and construction technology intended to improve the riding experience of all sailors out there. The new AC-X is a new generation type of sail which takes freeride and freerace disciplines to a new level. The AC-X is designed with specific focus on usability and speed, and it feels very comfortable at all times. The sail blends the best of the classic freeride Square design and the performance oriented design of a cambered sail in order to offer top control and efficiency.

Although it is a very comfortable and easy to use sail, the AC-X can compete with any other cambered racing sail on the market in terms of performance. It features a compact line which allows it to generate more power using a smaller surface. This way it can reach impressive speeds and it is very easy to handle and control. The shorter boom and mast improve overall maneuverability and allow the rider to perform advanced technical moves at high speeds without worrying about losing control.

The sail uses a six or seven battens skeleton, depending on size. This solid skeleton provides excellent stability at all times. Smaller sail models are optimized to offer superior control and handling in high winds, while larger ones offer higher sped and more power in marginal wind conditions. The Point-7 AC-X can be paired with freeride and slalom boards and offers a very smooth glide. It is perfect for pro riders, as well as for less experienced ones that enjoy casual racing. The sail is crafted using top quality fabrics and it feels very light.

The new AC-X gives you incredible acceleration and extreme top speed. Early planning is incredible on this sail. Windrange is also huge. The only bad thing about it is that it is too powerful and too fast :) if you get what I mean :)...more
