Severne is one of the most renowned brands in windsurfing industry. Their team works hard to improve the riding experience of all sailors out there by crafting high performance gear. The 2012 sails range is built according to the highest quality standards and intended to cover all riding styles and conditions. The new 2012 NCX is a high performance no cam freerace sail. Due to the no cam design is easy to rig and operate and feels very agile out on the water. The sail packs plenty of power and reaches an incredible speed, but it is also easy to maneuver and accurate.

The NCX is built on a race platform which allows it to generate incredible speed when it is fully charged. The reduced aspect ratio improves acceleration and allows the rider to reach top speed in no time. The sail incorporates a shock absorbing system which optimizes power delivery and assures a very comfortable drive. It allows the rider to maintain a comfortable stance even in strong gusts. Severne has used a Stabilizer Panel which reduces the vertical stretch and assures optimal foil tension to keep the sail balanced under load.

A dropped clew allows the rider to use the NCX with a shorter boom for improved maneuverability. At the same time the Dual Clew Positions permits the rider to fine tune the rig according to his specific requirements. A seven battens skeleton improves stability at high speeds. Severne has engineered the NCX using a monofilm structure which provides optimal durability and a very light structure. Extra durability is added by the use on an Aramid Torsion Frame. Fast and accurate, the Severne NCX is a reliable freerace sail.

The Reflex technology will work nicely for technical riders. The sail uses a reflex tensioner on the 3rd batten from the bottom. It is a powerful sail. I'd say that it fits advanced riders.

Works great for freeriders and racers. It is easy to power up and accelerates progressively. IF you release too much downhaul in high winds it can get you hanging out there. Tune it properly to face overpowered conditions, otherwise it might slip out...more
