Starboard is well known for the high quality windsurfing boards and gear it has created over the years, but not many sailors know that for 2008 Starboard has developed a new sail, the Raceboard Sail, one of the most efficient and dynamic ones available. As the name states, the Starboard Racing Sail makes a perfect tandem with a racing board. If we were to recommend a board from the same year lineup, that would be the Phantom Race. A fast board equipped with a powerful sail will deliver top performance and definitely win any race. The sail is pretty large, at 9.5 square meters, but it is light at the same time and easy to rig and maneuver. The foil tension is carefully optimized, so the Raceboard Sail is very aerodynamic, has great power delivery and low end and offers less friction with the air for a smooth and fast glide. The profile is compact and the sail features a deeper draft, to take maximum advantage of any wind blow to deliver high speeds. It is constructed on a four batten configuration and uses a fixed head for increased stability in high wind. A four cam systems assures enhanced maneuverability, so the rider has a direct and responsive control at all times. He can focus on the race without worrying about unwanted twists and turns.

The sail is constructed on Mono 125 Clear and X-ply fabrics and high wearable areas are reinforced with Dacron. This construction assures a lighter weight and increases steering capabilities. For optimal performance the manufacturer recommends that the Raceboard Sail should be used with Severne Red Line masts.
