I have the 12, it feels very light and responsive in the air, it has the power of a 13-14m kite, but also depowers to the range a 12 would be good in. This huge wind range is the main reason I like it. Other positives: very stable, fast turning, easy... read more
Liquid Force Solo 2015 Kite Review
Kite Features
The Solo is one of a kind. It is a kite that blends simplicity and performance like never before. It has evolved through multiple iterations from half struts to battens that eventually led to a very thin, low profile center strut. And this single strut machine has become a do-it-all kite. The Solo excels at multiple styles, can accommodate a wide range of riders and runs great in virtually all conditions and on all terrains.
The Solo can be defined by three words, as the guys at Liquid Force say: simple, powerful and fun. And they are right. The single strut Solo delivers massive power when needed, it is easy to control, comfortable to handle, fun to ride and easy to set up. It is perfect for freeride, big airs, wave riding and even foilboarding and covers a wide wind range.
The Solo features LF’s LF Synergy Strut construction that makes the canopy rigid and maintains its profile in all conditions. It also provides a direct and responsive feel. The high sweep wingtips provide increased turning speed, more precise bar feedback and super easy relaunch, even in light winds. The rider can adjust turning speed, bar pressure and bar input response at the wing tip and on the pigtails to match his or her style and skills.
The Solo is accurate and has a crisp flight. It can be depowered fast and can be controlled when depowered. The straighter profile of the trailing edge prevents flutter and drag. It is a kite with multiple purposes.
