Naish Torch 2013 Kite Review
Kite Features
The Torch is back for the 2013 season. This is one of the most successful competition freestyle C-kite available today and the Naish team is proud of it. For the 2013 season, the Torch has been tweaked and improved to offer state of the art performance. This kite is able to turn the experienced rider into a champ at virtually any freestyle competition. The Torch is fast and powerful, yet easy to control and reliable.
• Non-swept Outline
• Evolutive Profile
• Shift System Platform
• Power Foil Canopy
• Octopus Inflation System
The Torch is the perfect choice for pro riders. It is a powerful and agile machine meant to redefine the freestyle discipline. This kite feels quick and agile from the first moment it is launched. The power delivery is very smooth and depower is similar to that of a bridled kite. Naish has used an airframe design to make sure that the Torch offers excellent pop and lift.
Due to its non-swept outline, the kite provides solid power through turns. It also feels very direct and precise at all times. It is also very precise and reliable when going unhooked. The special placing of the struts assures optimal control and makes it stiffer and steadier. The Power Foil Canopy featuring horizontal seam shaping generates instant lift. At the same time the Evolutive Profile provides speed and power through its center sections and faster turning speeds through the tips. This feature also assures increased stability and less back stall.
Naish has also implemented a Shift System which keeps the 5th line locked in one direction and allows it to be pulled only from the rider’s side. This assures instant depower when needed. Another interesting feature is the increased angle of attack of the wing tips which maintains the kite active and more engaged and also assures faster turning.
The kite is also very solid. The struts are attached to a heavy duty Dacron Frame which supports heavy loads without hassle. Apart from its unmatched freestyle performance, the Naish Torch also offers excellent freeride and waveriding potential.
