Ozone C4 2012 Kite Review
Kite Features
The C4 is a powerful new school freeride weapon, designed by Ozone especially for the dedicated rider. It blends C-kite feature like direct handling and superior unhooked performance with massive de-power and back line relaunch to deliver an awesome ride. It 2012 the Ozone crew has tuned the kite to make sure it provides great freestyle, but also wakestyle performance in real world conditions.
Dedicated riders demand superior performance from their kite. And the C4 offers unmatched freeride, freestyle and wakestyle performance in all conditions. Each size of the 2012 C4 has been tweaked to offer the best ride in its wind range. This way the smaller sizes models were slowed down a bit, while the larger size models were speeded up in order to improve the freestyle performance.
The aspect ratio of the kite has been modified in order to deliver better low end and more solid power during pop and release. The C4 uses the Variable Bridle Geometry system which offers the new school and freeride settings. When set on the New School option, the kite provides a slightly heavier and direct feel, it sits back a little bit more in the wind window when un-hooking, providing a more powerful load up and pop perfect for New School freestyle and wakestyle.
When set on the Freeride option, the C4 offers a lighter bar feel and increased de-power which is perfect for freeriding and also in the waves. The kite is easy to set on each option, by just shifting the middle bridle lines up or down on pigtails. The 2012 C4 also has multiple trimming options offering customized handling and bar pressure.
The Ozone C4 2012 bridges the gap between flat kites and the classic C-shape kites offering a more "grunty" feel whilst having heaps of de-power and amazing water re-launch characteristics.
