I've seen a 7m Notus for sale at a good price and I was wondering if anyone has tried one. How's the low end and high end? And how doer this ERA sys work?
Zeeko Notus 2011 Kite Review
Kite Features
Since the first release a couple of years ago, the Zeeko Notus has proven to be a very efficient and reliable freeride, wave riding and even racing kite. The Zeeko team seems to have found the perfect formula which combines power and control into one single flying machine. For 2011 they have enhanced this formula and the new Notus model has evolved into a more efficient kite. The new design is centered on a more crossover performance, and it is updated with user friendly features which make it perfect for beginner and advanced riders alike.
• Enhanced crossover performance
• Easy Relaunch Assistant for fast relaunch
• Three attachment points leading edge
• Adjustable back bridle location
• Lightweight construction
• Easy and fast inflation and deflation system
• Extra reinforcements
The Zeeko team has focused on usability and high performance when it has developed the new 2011 Notus. The kite went through extensive research and development, as well as extra testing to meet the needs of the most demanding freeriders, wave riders and race enthusiasts out there. At the same time it is a great crossover kite if you wish to change your style from freestyle to freeride, but still require plenty of pop.
The Notus is tweaked to offer plenty of power for tricks and speed, but at the same time it is safe, responsive and user friendly, so it is perfect not only for advanced and experienced riders, but for beginner ones too. The SLE Hybrid shape and the refined profile allow the kite to offer a smooth and drag free ride and also top control. The Zeeko Notus is very easy to set up due to the use of a One Pump system which features one inflating valve and one deflating valve. Once launched, it takes advantage of the lightest wind blow to power up and becomes very agile. The rider operates the kite through a simple four line setup and an improved pulley bridle system. The kite is very responsive and has a direct and accurate control. The rider can perform fast turns and rotations, experience high jumps and extra lift time without any effort at all. The Notus features a three strut configuration which assures a light weight and extra stability as well as increased steering response. The steering abilities are improved by the wider wing tips which develop a lower bar pressure. Upwind and acceleration abilities are significantly increased by the reduced diameter leading edge. At the same time this feature assures a more compact and aerodynamic profile and provides a fast flight. The Zeeko team has drastically enhanced the relaunch potential of the Notus. If the kite crashes, it can be relaunched in matter of seconds with the help of the ERA – Easy Relaunch Assistant system. The kite can be also depowered very fast and easy to provide extra safety for the rider.
The Zeeko team has managed to reinforce the kite in the high stress areas, but keep a very light construction. The kite has a perfectly balanced strength to weight ratio. The Zeeko Notus is available in 5.5 to 12 meters sizes and six unique color schemes.
