Lewis Crathern Suffers Serious Injury at the Red Bull King of the Air

British elite rider Lewis Crathern is without doubt one of the most extreme kiteboarders today. He is well known for his dangerous kite jumps over the Brighton and Worthing Piers, as well as for other extreme flicks.

Lewis was an important participant in the 2016 Red Bull King of the Air, but unfortunately, he suffered a severe injury in the semifinals. He performed a massive kite loop when his kite stalled causing him to fall nearly 20 meters (65 feet) and crash into the water.

Lewis didn't suffer any brain damage, broken bones or internal injuries, but is in a medically-induced coma until his condition stabilizes.

Aaron Hadlow, the 2016 Red Bull KOTA champ stated: “I couldn't help but think of one of my best mates missing out on the final and ending up in the hospital.”

You can take a look at the moment of the crash in the clip below.
