Marc Jacobs – The Road of a Kiteboarder

Born and raised in a small beach town in New Zealand, Marc Jacobs grew up with salt in his veins and wind in his face. We guess it was only a matter of time till Marc would concentrate on extreme water sports. He saw a kiteboarder for the first time when he was only 11 years old and he knew this sport will grow to define him.

After a few years of saving up his earnings from his paper run, Marc could finally afford a kite and board. He first got his kite and spent time on the beach jumping off sand dunes before getting the board. But once he had the complete set of gear, Marc started conquering the water.

His determination and hard training paid off. At just 23 he claimed 2 New Zealand Junior National titles, 2 New Zealand Open Men's titles and a career highlight with a win on the PKRA world tour.

Many consider that Marc is one of those riders who has got a reputation of being one of the best in the world but has never gotten the opportunity to fully prove his skills. But we think this year he will prove he is a great rider. He is currently ranked #2 on the PKRA freestyle chart and he has a serious shot at the world title. His main sponsor is Switch Kites.

Marc has put together a little video profile for his fans. It is a short edit that perfectly showcases his journey on the amazing kiteboarding road. You can check it out in the related videos section below. Enjoy!
