All the boards in the 2010 Mako lineup (the 130 x 35cm also known as the Mako Mini, the 140 x 40cm board, the 150 x 40cm board, and the 165 x 45cm board known as the Mako King) have been designed for riders who like to carve hard and go big.

Putting the spotlight on the 2010 Freeride 140 x 40cm, it must be said that this board, with its generous width, gets up and goes very easily. Its 140cm length means the board offers less swing weight; it must be said that even though this board is a bit on the big side, it feels surprisingly small. And speaking of big things, the board has a massive 18mm concave that slices through the chop, offers easy upwind tracking and seamless carving.

If you decide to get the Mako Mini you will have it for a long time. This is because the board has a very sturdy design: Duraclear top and bottom, tapered ABS rails, snowboard style construction.

Why would you want to get the 2010 Mako Freeride 140x40 board? You would want to get it if you are looking for a sturdy freeride board that is forgiving enough for the novice rider to learn on; you would want to get it if you are looking for a board that performs well in light wind conditions, in waves or in the chop.
