The new series of Wide SUP boards introduced by Starboard in 2011 is crafted with special focus on stability and gliding properties. These boards excel on waves, but also run great on flat waters and can support heavier riders without trouble. The Whooper is one of the most versatile and efficient wave wide SUP board crafted by Starboard.

The wide body of the Whooper provides exceptional stability, and allows the rider to use it in tough surf conditions and white water without worries. The board is quick and feels steady on the waves. It turns smooth and fast and can be controlled with ease. It can catch almost any wave and it is nearly impossible to get it to nose dive. The Whooper is a good wave riding board for expert as well as for less experienced riders. It has a smooth glide, it tracks well and it feels comfortable under the rider’s feet. It features a mono concave nose to flat middle section and a V shaped tail. These features improve turning agility and assure a fluid slide. The board is equipped with a thruster fin setup, featuring a Hexcel 170 center fin and two M4.7" side fins.

The Starboard Whooper comes in Brushed Carbon, Tac, and Silver, Candy, Blue and White AST construction technologies. The AST technology provides a balanced strength to weight ratio, the TAC Wood one extra dynamic shape stability and the Brushed Carbon one generates a lighter and more precise structure.
