Paddle Imua 2012

Paddle Imua 2012

Period: May 5 - May 5, 2012
Location: Maui, United States

Paddle Imua is a charity event intended to fund and support the activities of Camp Imua, a camp dedicated to children with special needs. Camp Imua gathers 50 children for a week of fun activities. It is hosted by Imua Family Services of Maui, and organization which provides child development and therapeutic services for kids in need.

The Paddel Imua event hosts a downwind SUP race from Maliko Gulch to the Hawaiian Canoe Club in Kahului Harbor. It is an event open to Stand-Up Paddleboard (SUP), OC1, OC2, Surfski and Paddleboard divisions. The event is sponsored by Bluesmiths, a manufacturer and online retailer of premium crafted waterwear.

John Smalley, founder of Bluesmiths, said: “Lots of us have paddled the legendary Maliko-to-Kahului run many times, but I think this time it will be that bit more special. We are fully committed to supporting fundraising efforts for Camp Imua, and we want to help the kids in any way possible. We`re all about hard work, water time and great times with family and friends, and that`s what this event is all about. We simply can`t think of a better way to introduce our new line of crafted waterwear than at Paddle Imua.”

The event takes place on the 5th of May, on the North Shore of Maui, Hawaii. It takes place at the same time as the Ohana Festival at the Hawaiian Canoe Club, so the participants will be able to attend many entertaining competitions and alternative activities.
