Wild and Scenic Red Riverfest 2021

Wild and Scenic Red Riverfest 2021

Period: May 15 - May 15, 2021
Location: Slade, United States

This spring, join the Friends of Red River for the Wild and Scenic Red Riverfest, a celebration of the Red River, the only waterway in Kentucky that has this invaluable designation from the National Wild & Scenic River System which keeps it free-flowing and protected. The 2021 edition of the event includes the 7 mile Middle Red Float Trip, revival of the historic Red River Canoe Race, and our virtual fest! We’re proud and thankful for the wonderful partners which make this program possible; the Explore Kentucky Initiative, Kentucky Waterways Alliance, Kentucky River Authority, Powell County Tourism, Wolfe County Search & Rescue, and Powell County Lions Club.

The Wild & Scenic Red Riverfest float is a 7 mile trip that launches from Copperas Creek Canoe Access point and ends at Red River Adventure Campground & Canoe Rental. Participants will paddle along the beautiful middle section of the Red River, a journey that will immerse them in the incredible beauty of the surrounding Daniel Boone National Forest, soaring cliff line, and the socially distanced camaraderie of fellow paddlers on the water.

The event takes place on the 15th of May, in Slade, KY. For more details, please follow this link.
