14 Years Old Jeffrey Spencer Wins the Canadian SUP Surf Championship

The second annual Tofino Paddle SUP Surf Invitational, also known as the Canadian SUP Surf Championship, held at the end of October, was an action packed event, filled with thrill and suspense. The event hosted two days of standup paddleboard surf competition followed by a day of surfing.

And the Open SUP Division was dominated by Jeffrey Spencer, a 14-year old dual Canadian-U.S. citizen from Maui. He managed to win the title, hailing ahead of more experienced riders. He was followed by Tofino Paddle Surf team rider Marco Procopio in the second place and Glen Pearson in the third.

As the Tofino SUP Surf contest is the Canadian championships, the victory landed Jeffrey a place in the 2016 International Surfing Association World SUP and Paddleboard Championships in April.
