Charging a Tidal Bore in Malaysia

A tidal bore is quite rare and it is pure gold for surfers and SUPers. The leading edge of an incoming sea tide forms a large wave that goes up a water way such as a river or narrow bay to create the tidal bore. These phenomenon creates unique waves that dance against the natural flow of the water way.

Well, a cool tidal bore took over Malaysia’s Batang Lupar River in Sri Aman, Sarawak just last month. And local adventurous SUPers charged it. Perhaps it is not the first time they ride a tidal bore on the Batang Lupar River, but this time they ventured on their local benak, a place infested by crocodiles.

This is indeed something daring and we’re glad their adventure was caught on tape. You can check it out in the related videos section below.
