Paddlers Charge the River Seine on the Nautic SUP Paris Crossing

Paris’ River Seine was transformed into the scene of an incredible SUP event over the last weekend. 400 SUP riders charged its waves in the Nautic SUP Paris Crossing 2014 race and leisure paddle. Competitors started riding even before the morning sun rose, taking off from National Library of France.

They traveled on a 10 km course along the iconic river, finishing at the Quai de Javel. They passed along Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Museé d’Orsay, and Pont Neuf, in one of the biggest events of the year, facing fairly bracing conditions.

New Caledonia’s Titouan Puyo claimed the first place, followed by Denmark’s Casper Steinfath and Sene Gaetan from France. On the women’s side, Celine Guesdon from France took the win. She was followed by Joanne Hamilton-Vale from the UK and Valerie Vitry also from France.
