Riding Alaskan Tidal Bore

Tidal bores are a quite rare phenomenon. It takes place when the leading edge of the incoming tide forms a wave that travels up a river or narrow bay against the direction of the current. The water basically starts to flow backwards.
Only a few tidal bores in the world are large enough to get noticed. And the one on Turnagain Arm, Alaska is definitely one of those. It’s a dramatic show of nature’s power and having the opportunity to SUP such a bore is huge.
Henry Bland had the chance to do it. He was there for the tidal bore and ventured out on the Turnagain Arm aboard his SUP. It was all captured on video.
