Sean Poynter and Izzi Gomez Win La Torche Pro

La Torche Pro, the final event of the Standup World Tour wrapped up after several days of tough competition. The best riders in the world proved their skills, racing in the French waves and staging an incredible show.

US rider Sean Poynter proved to be the toughest rider and claimed the win, ahead of second place Leco Salazar of Brazil. However, in the race for the world title, Maui’s Kai Lenny stepped up his game to secure the highest scoring wave of the day in the quarter finals over world title contender Caio Vaz, winning the 2014 World Champion title.

In the women’s division, Izzi Gomez, who already claimed the World Champion title back in September at the Huntington Beach Pro, proved herself once again, winning the La Torche Pro event, ahead of local favorite Caroline Angibaud and fellow American Sophia Tiare Bartlow.
