DaKine ISA World Junior Surfing Championship Final Results

The DaKine ISA World Junior Surfing Championship presented by Billabong came to an end. The competition that took place between the 11th and 22nd of this month in Panama gathered some of the best young surfers in the world for a few days packed with exciting surfing action.

Team Hawaii was the best, and won two of the three individual Gold medals and the first Team Gold Medal since 2005. The 14 years old Kalani David from Hawaii, who was competing in the Boys Under 16 performed outstanding and won the gold medal. His performance was complemented by that of Dax McGill, also 14 years old in the Girls Under 18 section, who also managed to win the gold medal.

At the end, Dax McGill stated: “I’m on top of world right now. Thank you to everybody who’s ever supported me. I’m so stoked right now! This is my first year doing ISA and I never thought I could ever make it this far, but I just did – I proved myself wrong.”

Kalani performed some sick aerial maneuvers in the final round, wave after wave, impressing the judges and the audience. He said: “I’m super stoked right now. It means the world to me to win the Gold Medal. Being in a contest with kids surfers from all around the world, it definitely is something I’ll remember forever.”

In the Boys Under 18 division, the gold medal was won by Matheus Navarro from Brazil.
