Danilo Couto Enters 2013 Billabong Ride of the Year Challenge

Brazilian Danilo Couto is one of the most determined big wave chargers we’ve seen. Although he is from Bahis, Brazil and probably loves the warm waves and sun rays, he is not afraid of huge freezing swells either and likes to challenge them as well.

Not long ago, he dodged a freezing hailstorm to grab a windy beast at Mullaghmore Head, County Sligo, Ireland. It was a crazy ride and with it Danilo gained his entry in the Ride of the Year category of the 2013 Billabong XXL Global Big Wave Awards presented by Pacifico.

The 2013 Billabong XXL Global Big Wave Awards is considered the ultimate surfing competition, as it has been honoring the greatest achievements in the greatest waves worldwide.
