Rip Curl GromSearch USA 2012 Results

Rip Curl Grom Search is perhaps the most prestigious surfing competition dedicated to kids. It represents a launching pad for them if they want to peruse a pro career in this great sport. A few days ago, the 2012 Rip Curl GromSearch USA National Final presented by H2O Overdrive has come to an end and the best young riders from the US were crowned. And it was the “best surfing in a GromSearch event ever!" as the audience, participants and officials say.

In the Boys 16 and Under division, Kanoa Igarashi claimed the first place with a series of clean carves, huge blow tails, and high flying aerials. He said: "It feels amazing! I've never been to that area of Australia, it's going to be a great experience and I can't wait!"

In the Girls 16 and Under division, Tatiana Weston-Webb defeated her best friend and fellow Hawaiian Bailey Nagy in the final and managed to defend her National Title from 2011. She explained her winning strategy: "I watched the girls, I watched how Sally (Fitzgibbons) warmed up, took after her footsteps, and it worked."

In the Boys 14 and Under division, Kanoa Igarashi practically annihilated the entire competition, while in the Boys 12 and Under division, Luke Gordon claimed the first place.
