It is engineered using a special shaping technology and structure which makes it very agile and easy to control in real world wave conditions.

The narrower and compact outline, featuring a fuller nose allows the rider to tackle any wave without problems. At the same time, the narrower tail assures excellent turns and spin control. It also assures a balanced power release and better planning abilities. The planning ability and upwind performance are also improved by the new rocker line. The board runs very smooth and feels very stable in all wave conditions due to a new refined bottom design. The RRD Hardcore Wave Contest is equipped with a quad fin setup which assures better grip and makes the board very agile. The fins also optimize power and provide better lift if needed.

RRD has engineered the Hardcore Wave Contest using an EPS Deck in PVC and Carbon Sandwich, a Wood sandwich heel structure and a full PVC bottom in Biax Glass layups. Additional PVC stringers and glass bands are used for reinforcement. This construction makes the board very light and virtually indestructible. The RRD Hardcore Wave Contest excels in sideshore conditions, but can be used in several other wave conditions as well. It is a perfect board for competitions.
