Starboard Kode 2012

A new series of Starboard boards is ready to start the 2012 windsurfing season in full throttle. The boards are crafted using the latest technology and the best fabrics and cover a wide range of sailing styles and conditions. The Kode is a powerful and agile board, designed especially for aggressive and radical wave and freestyle enthusiasts. The board is available in Wood, Wood Carbon and Technora editions. Wood models have the highest dynamic stability and a rigid flex, while the Wood Carbon editions are lighter and have a quicker response and a stiffer flex.

The Technora Kodes feature a stiff and crisp construction which makes them very tough and perfectly suitable for extreme surf conditions. The Kode offers specific performance depending on size. Smaller Kodes are perfect for down the line wave riders and high wind freestyle maneuvers, medium sized models offer a balanced wave, freeride and freestyle performance, while larger Kode boards are perfect for dedicated freeriders and work very well in marginal wind conditions. Starboard has used a fast rocker line in the design of the Kode, to make sure that it is able to reach impressive speeds and has a good acceleration. This rocker line also assures sharp control.

A spiraled V bottom design assures a very smooth drive and keeps the board stable in most wind and wave conditions. It also improves maneuverability and steering response. Thinner rails in the front area assure that the board offers an aggressive bite. At the same time, thicker a rail profile in the back foot area assures forgiving maneuverability and a comfortable stance. Additional comfort is provided by the heel bumpers and new Sponge Pads.
