When it has created the 2010 windsurfing board series, Starboard has developed and implemented a new technology and new concepts meant to significantly increase overall performance. And it has done an awesome job, especially if we look at the Quad IQ, a board designed in such a way that it can be customized to perform in a multitude of conditions and for multiple styles.

Now the rider doesn’t have to change board if the wave and wind conditions change, he just tunes the fin setup ad he is ready to go. If the rider chooses the on shore fin configuration, the board will deliver enhanced power, great for jumps and wave riding. This configuration also maximizes stability and upwind abilities. The side shore fin configuration balances power and stability very smooth to increase maneuverability. Finally, the skate fin set up significantly generates more power and makes the board run at top speed. Part of the IQ concept is the Slot Box. The Starboard IQ Quad uses a very light and easy to adjust box, to make the board simple, light and efficient. The board features a spiraled V design combined with a mono concave tail bottom area and double concave tip one which allows it to release the perfect amount of power, while being extremely maneuverable at the same time. A flattened rocker and soft rails maximize traction and decrease drag, so the rider can experience extreme speeds and effortless control. He can steer the board very easy and focus on his moves, without worrying about unwanted twists and turns.

The Starboard Quad IQ uses a Wood Carbon construction which improves overall durability and minimizes wave impact, while keeping the board light and flexible.  For optimal efficiency the manufacturer recommends that the board should be used with a 3.0 to 6.7 meters wide sail, depending on size and volume.
